THE PASTEL HOUSE
We were commissioned to rehabilitate a 50 year old structure which was at a near dilapidated state. The clients decided to move back to their home which was on lease for over decades and they wanted a complete makeover of the building. What started as a mere repair work slowly evolved, and gradually ended up into a full fledged interior design. The project was a break from the wooden and earthy tones . Pastels shades and distressed textures are in this season, and the clients gave us complete liberty to experiment whilst also adding their valuable creative inputs to develop the them. We were able to reuse a lot of the existing furniture with upholstery and textures completely reworked to suit the theme. The reused furniture dictated the style of the space and it evolved into transitional style with heavy neo-classical influences. The ultimate satisfaction was the feedback from the client , who had initially only planned the renovation as a a short term arrangement ,have now completely embraced their new ‘Home’ We thank Segu Abdul Cader, Shahila Khan and the rest of the family for a wonderful experience doing up their house !
